COMBY

An integrated kerbside collection scheme requires containers with particular technical characteristics to ensure the service works well. Comby completes the range of solutions to meet the needs of both customers and waste-collection operators.

Comby is a technical container with comb-type frontal receiver for mechanical collecting and emptying operations, according to UNI EN 840-1 Standards. Comby is made of virgin or recycled polypropylene, 100% recyclable, treated for UV resistance.

They are available in two sizes, 40 and 50 litres: their small size and their tapered rectangular shape makes them easy to store outdoors.

Thanks to its comb-type front attachment and the exclusive lid and carrying handle design, the bin can be lifted up and emptied by mechanical means but also easily handled manually by the operator when required. The small size and its tapered shape enables it to fit in anywhere without difficulty, especially outdoors, even when little space is available.

Comby may result very useful for door-to-door sorted collection schemes in city centres or any other urban areas where containers of low visual impact are required to be matched with a mechanical collection system.

All versions have the lid attached to the body by four sturdy hinges and have an integral carrying grip. Its strong handle when folded down on the lid serves both to keep stray animals from opening the bin and to move the bin by means of the grip on the lid. This device is not a hindrance when emptying the bin as the handle folds to the back and the lid opens automatically.

Comby containers can be fitted with a bar code or transponder for statistical purposes: a computer collects information each time the bin is emptied to calculate charges based on the number of times the bin is emptied or for other statistical reasons.

This system is already used by a number of local councils across Italy, with excellent results.
